Last fall, we had the pleasure of shooting for a lovely boutique in Carlsbad, CA. Aranelle is a charming store, with many unique pieces of clothing, accessories, and shoes. The day of the shoot, the store was putting on a fall fashion show, so we had lovely models there wearing some of the clothing!
We love how the video turned out! Tell us what you think! What is your favorite item in the video? Doesn't this make you want to go shopping? I am a big shopper so store promotional videos is just up my alley.
As a person who has been practicing yoga for nearly two decades, I was excited to take on a project involving yoga! Jamie, the instructor, wanted a short piece that she could use on social media to promote her mini-retreat, and we were able to jump right in and film! We managed to film without being too intrusive to the class participants as well.
One of my favorite parts of this shoot was that I got to participate in the yoga class too! It was so relaxing, and the perfect end to this promotional shoot!

Last month, we were honored to film and enjoy some quality networking time at the She Rocks! We Rock! event at You and Yours in San Diego. It was a lovely evening, of food, drinks and fun!
You and Yours is a lovely venue for networking events because it is inviting, stylish, and accommodating! And the drinks are great!
Since we are a women-owned, women-run company, we felt very close to this event, and wanted to give our support whole-heartedly!
Enjoy this recap / promotional video and we hope to see you at the next event!

When we were asked to create specialized content for a local hair salon, the first thing we thought of was showing different types of beauty through music. We planned an entire shoot day, including getting ready shots, beach shots, and shots inside a beautiful hotel nearby.
We had lovely talent to work with. All the women were so pleasant and easily coachable, making it a breeze to get the beauty shots we needed.
When planning shoots like these, we typically create a timeline and plan each location according to the shots we need. We always recommend shooting 10 to 1, meaning that we shoot about 10 times more than we need to! The GREAT thing about shooting more than we need is that it allows us to create multiple different edits for our clients. Often, clients will decide they want more content for social media posting, and it is wonderful to be able to have more to work with.

I absolutely loved creating this promotional video for EcoVivarium in Escondido. I came across EcoVivarium when I was searching birthday party ideas for my daughter. Lo and behold, EcoVivarium had the need for promotional video for their social media and website! I was so excited to film this video because I LOVE animals, and I LOVE seeing kids get excited!
The kids were VERY interested in all the different reptiles and amphibians. It was adorable. It was a little challenging to film due to kids running in front of the camera, however that added to the excitement and gave me fun shots to work with. I am thankful for all my experience filming weddings, because it allows me to move quickly and think on my feet when filming. Usually, I create promotional content for companies in which I am able to direct and control the shots. I may have actors, or real customers but they are very direct able, and I set up planned shots. I knew I wanted to get a lot of shots of interactions for this promotional video, so I moved around quickly, and got what I wanted! Directing 17 five year olds, that's another story!
When I create promotional videos, my main goal is to show what the company does, and create interest, so that potential clients will be compelled to 'google' the company, and find out how they, too, can experience what they have to offer.
Enjoy this promotional video, and check out EcoVivarium!
This fall, we were honored to film the San Diego Humane Society's Fur Ball. We love animals, and thought it was the perfect opportunity to get some super cute footage AND support a very good cause! A little more about the event:
On Sept. 9, San Diego Humane Society hosted 600 guests and 200 canines at its 31st annual Fur Ball gala. The evening was filled with live entertainment by Haute Chile, dancing, a delicious array of gourmet food prepared by Jeffrey Strauss of Pamplemousse Grill, and most importantly - an opportunity for guests to support San Diego Humane Society's work and animals right here in our community, both domestic and wildlife. Loyal animal supporters stepped up to the plate in a very impactful way! The event raised over $800,000 to support the animals and programs of San Diego Humane Society, making this the most successful Fur Ball to date! A special thank you to the major event sponsors: Petco, the Petco Foundation, Purina, VCA Animal Hospitals, EDCO Disposal Corporation, the Richard Woltman Foundation and Scott and Susie Tietjen.

This summer, I was asked to be a part of the second annual She Rocks! event. I was honored to be able to share my talent and meet up with a group of creative women and discuss not only business but friendship. I was motivated to learn more about this group because their networking theme wasn't simply handing out cards that we probably will end up forgetting about... But instead, this group focuses on building friendships and truly learning more about each other and how we can help each other. To me, it is more about the long term, less about the short term. We may not know exactly how this relationship may help us, it may not be obvious at all. But down the line, way later, we may have a phone call or new client that points back to that relationship!
Relationship building in the creative industry is very important. We believe not only community over competition, but we believe what we do as filmmakers can truly help other small businesses. I personally get excited work with other business to help them with their promotional video content. I especially love when they see the results they get from having different types of videos on their site. From highlight videos to how-to videos, we do it all, and we can help you, too!

When selling a home, or renting a property, sometimes photos just aren't enough. Some properties simply don't look as good as they do in person, thus, a home tour video is essential to show and highlight the home's best features!
When creating home tours, we can use several different tactics. We like to include drone footage to show the location, the views, and the layout of the home. We use steadicam "walk-through" footage to give viewers the sense of actually being there and to create a sense of movement. Components may vary from home to home, depending on what the goal is. If the realtor wants to create a connection with viewers, it may be beneficial to follow him or her through the house, telling / explaining the home to viewers. If it is for a home rental, seeing the realtor may not be so crucial, but a voiceover may be more appropriate. We can also use creative titles in order to highlight the homes features. Since many viewers watch from mobile devices and may not have their sound turned on, the subtitles / titles may be a better way to reach people.
The best way to approach home tours is to get the best shots and create a catchy promotional video so that viewers are intrigued and motivated to contact the realtor or property manger.

This was the first year we were available to participate and enjoy the All-Industry Cruise! We were asked to make a highlight video of the event. We decided to bring our new Canon 5D mark IV and take it for a test run. We REALLY loved the camera. It's got some great new features that the mark III did not have. It shoots 4K video, and has some nice autofocus tracking! It also looks amazing in low-light (see our last shot in this video, of the San Diego bay at night!)
We also loved the cruise! It was on the Inspiration Hornblower, and there was lots of appetizers, drinks, and dancing! It was definitely a fun event and there were people from all different types of businesses to network with.
Making highlight videos of events is a great way to promote the event for future years! When shooting, we look for the best shots, as well as find a way to include all the components. There were many different sponsors, so we tried to get shots that included them as well. When editing this type of video, we highlight the best parts yet keep it short and concise so people don't get bored. The worst thing is to have a boring video, and that is definitely NOT our style.
Enjoy this fun highlight, and maybe we will see on you board next year!
In July, we had an amazing opportunity to fly to Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico. Our client, Sayulitalife.com had us connect with several businesses in Sayulita to feature in a highlight reel, so we set a schedule of events and enjoyed the experiences while documenting it at the same time!
We did a series of business, including 3 delicious restaurants and several activities. I absolutely loved our surf lesson with Wildmex Surf Adventure and our hike with Arturo at Mexitreks! There were lots of opportunities to fly the drone and get amazing aerial video.
We are currently in preproduction stages for our next shoot in Sayulita. Enjoy the highlight reel, and if you have any questions about booking your trip to Sayulita, what to do, or where to stay - check out www.sayulitalife.com, they have a wealth of great information about Sayulita.
